Sorry about the lack of posting, it’s been even more nuts than usual and while I do have some blog posts ready, I like to let some of them reduce a little, like a great Bolognese ragu. We’ve had more laptop dramas (this time it’s Lara’s faithful old 12 inch PowerBook is having surgery, promoting a new laptop purchase) and I’ve been playing computer technician reorganising and reshuffling hundreds of gigabytes of images and back up drives. You have been backing up, haven’t you?
It’s funny, I can recall the days when a purchase like a new laptop was something I looked forward to, because my day job was covering the cost. Now it comes out of our profits and is a ‘necessary expenditure’ rather than one that you get excited about compounded by the fact that configuring and installing software cuts into time that you don’t have.
Anyway, as a little break this afternoon while disks were whirring and ‘progress bars’ were progressing slowly across computer screens, I took some time out to smell the roses and photograph them with my Lensbaby lens attached. I wanted to capture a little bit of the beauty of the flowers – we always admire how delicate whatever is in bloom is – as well as capture some of the whimsy of Auntie T’s garden. It’s a work in progress, just like my photos of it. Click on a photo in the gallery for larger sizes.

I’ve heard of Lensbaby but not sure what it does. Do you think if I bought one I’d take as many great photographs as you do? Hehehe. Have a great weekend!
Hi Jen, It’s a lens that gives you selective focussing meaning that you can have a small section of the frame in focus. They also have some fun wide-angle and close-up attachments for it — it’s good fun.
BTW I’m loving your Israel photos!
What’s a weekend?
Touche…I forgot! No such thing as weekends for you and Lara!
Beautiful photos. I need to buy myself a Lensbaby.
Thanks Erica, just make sure you get the macro attachments (they just look like screw-on filters) and they’re awesome fun.
Thanks for dropping by!
